Before you visit: check what facilities/activities are available and pack what you need (e.g. water, snacks hand sanitizer).
When you visit: Continue to follow public health advice including physical distancing by keeping at least two metres from others, wearing a face covering where required and when physical distancing may be challenging or not possible, washing hands regularly with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
Note: all terrain wheelchair (hawk watch trail only)
For a true bird’s eye view of the town and valley below, make your way up to Eagles Nest Park located on the Northern outskirts of the Town of Bancroft. The Hawk watch Trail that leads from the parking lot to the iconic lookout platform has been upgraded to an accessible trail (a first in Ontario with this view!) granting ease, use and experience for all. If this is your first visit, well, enjoy! If it is not, you know that with each passing season, the landscape evolves. Almost miraculously, it is never the same twice
Trail Tip: With the lookout being such a highlight, few know that this property is home to a variety of landscapes. Once you’ve marveled at the view, why not take the Gerry Whyte Trail (nature interpretive trail) and check out the new boardwalk for a strikingly different spectacle.
